St. Thomas House of Hospitality of the
NEW ORLEANS CATHOLIC WORKER
More on what we do . . .
What we do at the Catholic Worker can be analogous to a 3-legged stool. The 3 legs being Spirituality, Resistance and Community with each leg having not only action but values and beliefs as well. So what does all that mean, well:
For Spirituality, we study the Bible, we pray. For Community, we house houseless families; we also, serve a meal Tuesday at 6:00 pm for anyone who wants to come. For Resistance, we practice non-violence in resisting the dominant culture of the empire. We have a peace vigil Friday at 3:00 pm and support other local peace and justice groups. |
St. Thomas House is in transition and we will be refining and doing other projects as energies and resources permit.
